Middle School - Jewish Day School

Middle School (6-8)

JDS Middle School strives to guide students through the often turbulent years of early adolescence with the goal of graduating independent learners who understand their past, identify passionately with the issues of the present, and can confidently envision the impact of their own future trajectory within the larger world.

Small classes and a cross curricular emphasis on project-based learning offer students a unique opportunity for differentiated, creative collaboration balanced by foundational skill development. Students are given the time and space to exercise developing leadership through projects such as Student Council, Green Team, grade level outdoor education experiences, Yearbook, after school competitive sports and the highly-anticipated 8th Grade Israel Experience, a two week class trip to Israel taken the spring prior to graduation – the culmination to a JDS education. Outreach programs and mitzvah projects are also sprinkled throughout the year to help Middle School students become active participants in our campus community and the greater Seattle community and, ultimately, contributors to a better world.
