JDS 30th Anniversary

Back in September 1980, Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter were running for President, The Empire Strikes Back was big at the box office and telephones were still attached to the wall.  One of the most important things that happened that month, was that 42 children in Kindergarten through Second Grade started attending a new school called The Jewish Day School of Metropolitan Seattle.

This year, we are proud to be celebrating the school's 30th anniversary.   If you would like to help us celebrate or if you have JDS stories/memories from your years at JDS, please email me at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. How we're celebrating 30 amazing years:

  • Our alumni are back on campus this year helping students and teaching electives like a middle school film-making class.
  • Two alumni with a DJ business have been on campus providing music for a Middle School dance.
  • Our current and alumni families gathered for a hugely successful roller skating night at Bellevue's Skate King!
  • More than 400 people, including many alumni, attended the school's Annual Dinner & Auction in March 2011.
  • At the auction, our new school video was shown.  It was produced by alum Fraser Wirth and features several alumni.
