The Jewish Day School

JDS is pleased its new Mission Statement will be announced on March 18, 2012.  The rewrite was part of the school's 5 Year Strategic Plan, Growing Our Vision 2013, which was approved by our Board of Trustees in 2008.  Trustee Dr. Marc Gonchar was the Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee and led the effort to rewrite the Mission Statement:

"The mission statement defines who we are as a school. The true mission of the school has not changed since its inception. However, as the school grows and develops, the language used to describe our mission needs to evolve. We rewrote the mission statement to more accurately reflect how the school functions today and to provide a platform on which to base our plans for the future."

We are excited that the new Mission Statement will be revealed during our largest community event of the year - our Annual Gala and Auction being held March 18th at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in downtown Seattle.  The theme is Mission: Possible in celebration of this new definition of who we are which will guide us into the years ahead.  Thank you to Dr. Gonchar and board member Jill Friedman for their leadership on the Mission Statement rewrite as well as the faculty and committee members who worked with them to articulate so eloquently what JDS is all about today.  Check back March 18th when our new Mission Statement will be posted here.
